Dongdaemun Design Plaza

October 26, 2019

Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a modern hub for design related shows, exhibitions and other events. Designed by the well renowned architect, Zaha Hadid, this massive structure is an architectural masterpiece. It comprises of 5 halls: Art Hall, Museum, Design Lab, Design Market, and History and Culture Park. Personally, this is on top of my list to visit in Seoul since I love architecture and was blown away by its intricate details and curves.

How to get to DDP? Well, from our hotel (Metro Hotel) we took a short walk to Euljiro 1-ga Station and entered entrance 5. We then headed to Platform 2 and stopped at Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station (3 stations away) and took exit 1. From the exit gate, you can already see the grounds.

This compound is massive and we did not have enough time to visit everything. It is worth a visit if you love architecture, art, fashion and design since this place is meant for this. Seoul Fashion Week is held here and there's no wonder why you can see plenty of hippie teens everywhere .There is a Kakaotalk shop where you can buy cute stuff as souvenirs.
