Top Osaka Attractions

March 30, 2018

Osaka is the second largest city in Japan next to Tokyo. Popular places near Osaka are Kyoto and Nara which are just about an hour by train. If you happen to be in Osaka, you can easily do a side trip to these places. Being a metropolitan, it is somewhat different from Kyoto. Towering buildings of mesmerising architecture are everywhere. Streets are busy and crowded.
We stayed in Osaka for 3 days and it was absolutely enjoyable. Here are the places that we’ve been to:

Dotonbori

Your Osaka visit wouldn’t be complete if you’ll miss this place. It here where you basically experience Osaka. Dotonbori is a street where you can probably find almost everything you want. It has a long stretch of stores for shopping and most importantly, food! It is famous for its street foods and it did not disappoint us when we tried takoyaki, okinomiyaki and other weird street foods. It is here where you can find the famous Glico Man. During night time, street is full of neon lights and is alive because of its tourists. Since our accommodation was near to this place, we took advantage of taking pictures during night time and in the morning to have a clean shot.

Shinsekai

Shinsekai is another place worthy for your Instagram. It is a place full of stores with bright neon lights. It is here where you can take picture of Hitachi tower as your background. It is just a walking distance from Tennoji Park and a must visit place to add your Osaka experience. A selfie worthy!

Osaka Castle

It wouldn’t be complete if you’ll miss the majestic Osaka Castle. Built 1500’s, the castle is the symbol of the great Osaka. It stood still amidst long history. The complex is composed of thick walls before you can actually reach the castle. The ground was full of beautiful trees changing colors as tourists flock and walk towards the castle. The ground is alive with street performers and of course tourists finding the best perspectives for a photograph.

Those three places are our recommended places to visit when in Osaka. We have visited few other places like Sumiyoshi Taisha Temple where you can find the red arch bridge. It is a serene place where you can enjoy view and just appreciate the calmness of the place. Tennoji Park and Zoo is another good place to visit too. Even just walking in the metropolis is photograph worthy because of its modern architecture.

Would not be complete without foods!

Osaka is a metropolis where modern and traditional Japan meet in a graceful way. In a short period of time we enjoyed the place and it was totally worth the visit.
