After we had a short rest in Nanzenji Temple, we headed to Yasaka Shrine. It is a long walk to Yasaka Shrine so we advise you to take a bus. For us, we just walked to look for a cafe to have some snacks and warm us up. Since Yasaka Shrine is located in the heart of the district, it was not hard for us to find a place to eat. Infact, just outside the shrine there are plenty of restaurants and cafes. We did not even realize that there were food stalls as well inside.

We reached there sunset and we stroll along Maruyama Park. As the day gets darker, more and more people were coming inside the shrine to take pictures of the numerous well lit lanterns. We set our tripod to take pictures as the sky turns blue. The lanterns were captivating as it lit up the shrine.

After our long day, we had dinner in one of the many sprawling restaurants along the area just outside the shrine. There are also plenty of convenience stores around where you can get to go dinner if you are in a budget. The food is good enough to satisfy your hunger. There is also Starbucks just across the shrine but do not expect to find a seat since it is always packed. We walked to Gion-Shijo Station which is just 1 station away from our guesthouse and called it a day.

Day 2 is next!
